きのう　　お庭の夕顔が　　五つも咲きました (Five bottle gourds of a garden bloomed yesterday.) お月さまに　　見てもらって　　さらに白く咲いていた (Had you watch it in the moon, and were whiter, and bloomed.) 夕顔も　　お月さまの　　光をうけて (Bottle gourd received light of the moon, too,) 見上げようと　　している　　ように　　見えました (and looked it to be going to look up.)

きょう　　十五夜で夕顔が　　六つも咲きました (Six bottle gourds bloomed today by a night with a full moon.) お月さまは　　夕顔と　　手づくりお団子みてる (The moon looks at bottle gourd and ODANGO(A kind of Japanese cake).) 夕顔も　　お月さまの　　光をうけて (Bottle gourd received light of the moon, too,) 見上げようと　　している　　ように　　見えました (and looked it to be going to look up.)
